When you are in a dangerous situation you have to be careful when seeking out help and most of the easily accessible information is online. Looking online isn’t always safe because privacy isn’t always guaranteed. When looking online it is safe to assume that anything you look at isn’t private. There are things that you can do when searching for help with domestic abuse online to help you keep information private.
One important way to stay private online is to keep a separate email address for any research that you are doing. Use an email that doesn’t have your name or any obvious personal information. Make sure that your passwords are difficult and complicated. Use letters, numbers, and symbols in your passwords and avoid anything that would be easy to figure out.
It is important that you log out any account that you have logged into on the Internet. If you don’t specifically log out, then you risk the next person signing on to your computer to be able to see and access those account details. Share with the people in your life what they can or cannot post about you online. When you are clear this will help to prevent someone putting your personal information out there without you knowing.
No matter what you can contact the Texas benefits for domestic violence survivors at any time. There is a National hotline 1-800-799-SAFE that can be called anytime, day or night. And, of course, if you are in immediate danger you will need to call 911. You can email the Family Violence Program at email@example.com. In this email you will need to put your contact information in the email so someone is able to contact you.

Part of the MOU worked to cross-train departments in order to offer the best services to individual that have been abused.
